WhatsApp Finally Introduces The Much Awaited Video Calling Feature

 

The messaging app WhatsApp is now owned by social networking giant Facebook and it has more than one billion users. The good news for everyone is that WhatsApp users will now be able to do video calls across the following platforms – iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone devices.

WhatsApp said in a blog that they have received several requests for video calling and finally they are happy to launch the new feature that will make the app more interactive.

In order to avail this new service, the existing WhatsApp users will have to update the app. The parent company Facebook has already been offering video calling services for its users and now it has decided to extend the same feature for Whatsapp users.

Facebook and WhatsApp both comprise of some of the fastest growing market around the world. The service will be available not only in the most advanced cities with the  best cellular networks, but also in the cities that do not have the best connectivity. Even those who do not have the most expensive smartphones will now be able to enjoy the video calling feature by WhatsApp.

There’s a phone icon in the Whatsapp homepage from where users will be able to select the voice call or video call option.
